FRAMING EXPERIENCE AT THE INTERSECTION OF SCIENCE AND ENGAGEMENT
The JAXA project was developed as a concept-driven exploration of how space agency identity and scientific mission can be translated into an immersive spatial and experiential framework. Drawing on the agency’s research, innovation ethos, and public outreach goals, the work establishes a foundation for environments that communicate science, inspire curiosity, and enable deeper audience connection with space exploration.
The objective is not a fixed architectural scheme, but a strategic vision for how environments might evoke wonder, encourage discovery, and support the agency’s broader engagement agenda.

DESIGNING FOR ENGAGEMENT, WONDER, AND HUMAN-CENTERED DISCOVERY
The concept prioritizes visitor experience as the primary driver of design thinking. Through a combination of narrative sequencing, spatial rhythm, and environmental cues, the framework imagines how public environments can guide attention, provoke questions, and foster meaningful connections with complex scientific ideas. Rather than a linear exhibit or static display, the experience is envisioned as a dynamic encounter that invites exploration, reflection, and ongoing engagement.
This approach supports both educational impact and emotional resonance.

A FRAMEWORK FOR CONVERSATION, PARTNERSHIP, AND DEVELOPMENT
JAXA’s conceptual experience framework functions as a strategic reference point for future discussion, partnership opportunities, and design development. By remaining adaptable and open-ended, the concept can inform broader planning initiatives while aligning stakeholders around a shared vision of experiential impact.
